The Central Schoolhouse in Oconee County

It was built in 1912 and open from 1913-1940. It got its name because they consolidated two smaller schools (Liberty and Melvin) nearby in a more central location. Part of the funding came by selling subscriptions in the community. After the school closed it served as a community center for many years and now is part of Heritage Park.
