From the Carriage Days

On the Streets of Savannah, you can still find evidence of the old carriage days. These steps were built to assist men and women getting into and out of their carriages in a more gentlemanly and lady-like manner. Also the red brick herringbone pattern of the side walk is something from the past and very seldom done anymore, if ever.
