Jail in Greensboro
Completed in 1807, "The Old Gaol" (pronounced jail) is believed to be the oldest existing jail structure in the state. The two-story granite structure has a trap door above the entry whereby condemned prisoners were hung before being dropped to their death. Jeff Reese
