Wrightsboro Methodist Church

Wrightsboro is one of the most historic communities in the colonial back country. It's origin's pre-date the Revolutionary War, when it was the town of Brandon, founded by Quaker Edmund Grey in 1754. During the Revolutionary War it was home to Fort Wrightsboro and after the war the town of Wrightsboro was founded in 1799. Not a whole lot is left of the original community and the first meeting house was built on this site. The current church was built in 1810. The church became a Methodist Church in 1877. Many graves of Revolutionary War and Civil War Veterans and prominent Georgians are here.
