Wayside Presbyterian Church

It was organized in the fall of 1921 at about the same time the community school was opened. That fall Reverend John Goff of the Macon Presbytery held services in the school and in December organized the Wayside Presbyterian with four charter members. Reverend Goff was asked why in Wayside when there are so few Presbyterians in the area. His response was simple, "We'll raise some up."
The new church was dedicated in 1923 under the charge of Rev E.B. Witherspoon. The church is still active today in it's original building.
