Mckee's Chapel Methodist Church near Juno
It was formed in the 1860s immediately after the Civil War. The charter members were all local people who were Unionists during the war. Originally it was a campground and brush arbor and as the congregation grew a new church building was constructed in 1886. The name of the church came from Mr Joseph Mckee Sr, an Irishman who came to the area right before the war. His $100 donation started the church fund. In 1915, the church was rolled closer to the road near where this structure is today. By 1948 deferred repairs led the elders to build this church which was done in 1951 and this served the congregation until 1990 when a new church was built across the road.
