Whitesburg Baptist Church
Whitesburg Baptist Church was organized as New Providence Baptist Church. The church records prior to 1871 were destroyed in a fire that destroyed the church clerk's house. From statement of the older members at the time, the church was organized as early as the late 1840s. The current structure was dedicated in 1875 at which time the members voted to rename themselves to Whitesburg Baptist Church and the building remains today. In 1973 stained glass windows were done and the top part of the steeple added in 1987.
