Camak Methodist Church
It was founded in 1870 as the tiny community began to grow with the fortunes of the Georgia Railroad. The church was consecrated with 40 members which at the time was more than the population of the community. At first they met in "the old schoolhouse" until about 1880 when a new wood frame church was built on the the current site. That church served until the 1920s when it was condemned and then moved and restored by an African Baptist Church, The new brick structure pictured here was completed in 1926. It served the congregation until about 2014 when the congregation, which had been in decline for quite awhile closed the church.
