The Ex-L&N Passenger Station in Jasper
When it was built in 1905, this was the main line of the L&N between Cincinnati and Atlanta. Four passenger trains a day stopped here. The next year the L&N built a faster route through north Georgia and the "Old LIne" lost it's status. However, roads were not great in the region and the train was still the fastest way to get to the larger cities, so the passenger trains held on until the depression when it was cut back to one. I'm not sure when passenger service ended. The depot has been several things since the end of passenger service. Today a private business is located there.
