The Huff House in Dalton

It  was built in 1855. It is named after the Huff Family who purchased the home in 1890. It stayed in the family until 1971. Prior to being purchased by Mrs Lida Huff, the home was used as the head quarters of Confederate General Joseph E Johnston in the winter of 1863-1864. During the war the house faced the Western & Atlantic Railroad and was witness to the Texas chasing the General north during the Great Locomotive Chase.
