Cove Methodist Episcopal Church in Walker County

 It was founded in 1872 a few miles southwest of where a terrible battle had taken place eight years before. Memories of that battle still troubled the local population when an acre of land was deeded for the new church. The first church lasted until this beautiful sanctuary was built in 1894 and still is there today in a peaceful, quiet setting. The full history is here;
