Rogers House in Madison

Madison was originally formed as part of an effort to settle what was then the Georgia frontier. Forty eight original lots, each measuring 100 by 200 feet were sold on February 23rd, 1809. Lot 6 sold to Reuben Rogers for $111. He built this home on it the following year. It is now the last remaining residence from the town's founding, still located on its original lot. The home was opened for tourism in 1992.
