Springfield Baptist Church in Taliaferro County
It was established in 1885. The church was rebuilt on it's original site in 1987. I know little else about it's history unfortunately, but as I was researching anything I could find, I came across one of it's former members, a Rev. Robert Edwards was very involved in getting black people registered to vote in Hancock County as early as the 1940s. He preached at the Springfield Baptist in Hancock County and needless to say, his life was under constant threat.
