The Chickamauga Presbyterian Church

It was organized in 1837. In 1850, construction of the current church was begun and completed in 1852. The Battle of Ringgold Gap raged around the area in 1864. The church was used as a Confederate Hospital and after their retreat Federal Troops used it as a stable. To this day there are blood stains on the floor and horse teeth marks on some of the benches. After the war the structure was a church again. It was renamed the Old Stone Church in 1912. Today, it is the home and museum of the Catoosa County Historical Society.
