The First Brick Rail Station Built in Georgia

This station was built in 1845, where the first Georgia Railroad train from Madison to Atlanta departed on September 15th of that year. The station was built by John B. Walker on land deeded by Adam B. Saffold. It was partially burned by Federal troops on December 3rd, 1864.
