The Oldest Jail in Georgia (1783)
It once held Arron Burr, the vice president under Thomas Jefferson. He shot Alexander Hamilton in 1804 and was accused of treason. He was held here on the way to Richmond to stand trial. He was accused of trying to start his own country in the middle of the US and conquer Mexico. Located in Warthen in Washington County. Bill Jones
