The Pendergrass General Store Building in Jefferson

It is the only downtown antebellum commercial structure left. The structure was built in 1858 and is an extremely rare Greek Revival Commercial structure.
Today, the building is one of three buildings that make up the Crawford Long Museum.
Dr. Long, born in 1815 in Danielsville, was the first doctor to use ether in surgery and that occurred in 1842.
