Brushy Mountain Rail Tunnel
View looking westward from inside the Brushy Mountain rail tunnel. This was built in 1904 after the Seaboard Air Line Railroad acquired the bankrupt East and West Railroad of Alabama. The railroad was converted into the Silver Comet multi-use recreational trail in the late 1990s. The tunnel's constant cave like temperature is a godsend for runners & bikers during hot Georgia summers. Brian Harlan
