Martha Mills in Thomaston

Mill was built in the 1920s and was owned by BF Goodrich. At one time the mill employed 4,700 people. It produced textiles and tire cords. The plant closed in 2006. A few years ago the interior was stripped of its heart pine floors and sold off and the building was razed. I worked here for 2 years as a teenager after school and weekends on the 4 to 12 shift every other afternoon. (Photo taken in 2013)
