Monticello Methodist Church
This is the Monticello Methodist Church in Jasper County that was built in 1895 at a cost of $3,500.00. The church members abandoned this building and moved into a new facility in 1960. Since that time, the now apparent vacant building has been used as a funeral home, the Jasper County Library, and by another denominational church. The historical cemetery adjoining the 1895 church was established in 1805. A record of the first church (now demolished) that was built was in 1828.
