The Shingle House
A 130-year-old two-story wooden building known as the “Shingle House" is an iconic feature of Gold & Grass Farms in Ball Ground. The largest goldmine in Georgia, the Creighton-Franklin Goldmine, was on the tract of land where Gold & Grass Farms sits. In the gold mining days, the Shingle House was used as a post office, hotel, and commissary. Mary Ann Arim Artz
