Concord Methodist Church in northern Elbert County was established in 1836, first using a brush arbor to worship under.
A few years later a log church was constructed and this church was used until 1845 when a second meeting house was built next to the log church. Eventually the log church was torn down and some of those logs were used to build a barn nearby. In 1894 the present structure was erected sans the classrooms on the back which were built in 1924. During the church's centennial celebration in 1936, a granite marker was placed on the site ohonoring the family who had doanted the land for the church in 1836.
