Former Alabama & Great Southern Railway Depot in Trenton
The railroad first came to Trenton in 1860 as the Wills Valley. The A&GS was cobled together from several roads and incorporated as an English company in 1877-It ran from Birmingham to Chattanooga, after merging some other roads, they then became a part of the Southern Railway in the 1890s. This depot is not as old as 1860. I cannot find the date of construction but it is a standard design in the late 1890s thru the 1910s. It has been moved away from the tracks and now is city property and has been home to the Chamber of Commerce and a Visitor Center,
