ATKINSON COUNTY, GA
Some of the only remnants of our little town's railroad history. "In late 1869 or early 1870, the town of Pearson came into existence. The construction of the B & A Railroad and the need of stations and intervals suggested to Hon. Benajah Pearson, the owner of the land and who had donated to the railroad a right of way through it, that it would be a convenient point for a station; so he made concessions to the railroad authorities and an agreement was reached to make it a regular station." (Taken from local history booklet).
