The Jepson House in Savannah

It was built in 1856 for local grocer Thomas Holcombe who was mayor during the Civil War. After the war it was purchased by Civil War Officer Robert Falligant. The Oglethorpe Light Infantry received it's colors here and then departed for the first Battle of Manassas and Robert E Lee stayed here on his last visit to Savannah in 1870. It is now the educational center for the Georgia Historical Society and named for a local philanthropist.
