Madison Baptist Church

It was organized in 1834 and their first church was at the site now occupied by Calvary Baptist Church. In 1858 they moved to the current site when this church was finished. The bricks are monogrammed with the initials JBW for John Byne Walker who contributed the bricks made on his plantation. Originally the facade was flat with access to the sanctuary provided by indoor stairwells. In 1917, the outside steps and doors leading to the sanctuary were added along with the columns.
