If you are driving down the Old Coffee Road in rural Brooks County & turn down Hodges Road, a bumpy country dirt road, you'll eventually come to this: a 10-span old wooden bridge over Mule Creek...known locally as Mule Creek Bridge! It was last refurbished in 1989 & it's still going strong today....It really is amazing what you can find hiding just off the main roads in South Georgia! I've lived in South Georgia my entire life & only recently realized this was here... It is the longest wooden bridge still in use in this area that I've found! This is very close to what was the very first road through this area- the Old Coffee Road....and legend has it, there is Spanish Silver & Confederate Gold buried near this spot along Mule Creek that has never been found!
