The Washington Women's Club House in Washington
The home was originally at the corner of W. Robert Toombs and N. Alexander Street. The lot was purchased by Colonel Micaijah Williamson in 1784 and this house was built. On his passing in 1793, his son-in-law John Griffin inherited the property. He died in 1814 and was buried on the lot. After a sucession of owners, the Women's Club purchased the home in 1929 and moved two lots north on Alexander and there it sits today, without major exterior changes.
