Town Terrace Motel

Built in the 1940’s, Van Gundy’s Motor Court was owned by none other than Violet Van Gundy. She was well known for role role as “Baby Violet” in the classic Our Gang series. She left a legacy here in the city of Tifton. Her motel still stands today under the name The Town Terrace Motel or “The Pink Motel.” When driving down highway 41, you can’t help but notice the retro lighted sign and the unique charm this place has to offer. It looks like a slice of yesteryear in the Friendly City.

. Unfortunately, it is under the threat of demolition to create a “micro town home” community. If the motel were to renovates and re-marketed it could bring so much to the city of Tifton, while keeping the history of it alive. One of the best things we can do is spread the word and garner as much support as possible to save this piece of history.
